MSR-Electronic GmbH in Pocking is increasingly focusing on its junior staff and has recently started using its own training workshop for apprentices in the profession of electronics technician for devices and systems. As a training company with currently 19 apprentices, it is particularly important for MSR-Electronic to offer its apprentices optimal training conditions and to win them over to the company in the long term. In the new training workshop, the trainees practise for the job and learn important technical skills in the field of system electronics.
The training workshop offers space for experiments and undisturbed learning. Technical knowledge learned in theory is put into practice here. The apprentices of the individual apprenticeship years are given the opportunity to take turns in actively participating in production, but also to independently carry out small projects in the new training workshop, such as the production of small devices and aids for production.
At present, some of the apprentices are working on an interdisciplinary IT project (IT specialist, electronics technician and industrial clerk) to facilitate the work processes of the internal IT department.
The trainees also deepen their theoretical knowledge through regular training. The training programme ranges from the theory of Ohm's law, mechanical processing (there is another separate room for this) and soldering to getting to know small components of electronics and the commissioning of measuring devices and Arduino microcontrollers. In addition, there is the opportunity to repeat and consolidate acquired specialist knowledge from vocational school.
In addition to internal training and project work, there is also in-depth preparation for the intermediate and final exams. The trainees are given the opportunity to work on exams from previous years and to discuss any related ambiguities with the trainer. In addition, exam situations and technical discussions are simulated and constructed in a practical manner.
"What I particularly like about the training workshop is that we can practically apply the knowledge we learn at vocational school with our own projects. Here we have the opportunity to further our education and to test our knowledge. We are supported and supervised by our trainer Elisabeth Jodlbauer," explains Sebastian Maier, apprentice electronics technician for devices and systems in the second year of training at MSR-Electronic GmbH.
