Apprenticeship in technology: Electronics technician for devices and systems in the spotlight.
For the Girls'Day, MSR-Electronic in Pocking opened its doors to offer girls in the 9th and 10th grades an exciting insight into the world of technology. This annual event, also known as Girls' Future Day, aims to get girls interested in technical professions and break down gender stereotypes. Whether technology, IT, engineering or skilled trades - there was plenty for everyone to discover!
The day started with a tour of the various departments at MSR-Electronic, where the girls were given a first impression of training to become an electronics technician for devices and systems as well as three other professions: Electronics technician for operating technology, industrial sales person and IT specialist for application development.
In the training workplace, a practical room specially set up for trainees, the participants were able to get their hands on the tools that are indispensable in the everyday life of a trainee electronics technician for devices and systems for the first time. These include, for example, soldering irons, screwdrivers, measuring devices and even 3D printers.
With the guidance of the trainees Anna (2nd year of training) and Benedict (1st year of training), the girls tried their hand at soldering and made cool kits such as LED spinning tops, LED hearts and solar boats. The LED heart was particularly exciting: the girls plugged and soldered the components onto a circuit board, connected batteries and enjoyed the flashing lights.
In addition to all the technical fun, the food and drink were not to be missed. Every Thursday is order day at MSR-Electronic for a joint lunch in the kitchen. The choice fell on pizza & pasta - not only a welcome refreshment, but also support for the regional catering and restaurant industry.
At the end, each participant printed her own MSR key fob on the 3D printer, a great souvenir of this eventful day. These innovative devices, which are normally used in development, were specially converted for this event to give the girls an impression of modern technologies.
"Girls'Day at MSR-Electronic was a complete success. I am proud that we as a company were able to offer young women the opportunity to explore their future in technology. Girls'Day is an important step towards getting more girls interested in technical professions and showing them that they can be successful in this industry. I look forward to planning more events like this and am convinced that some of today's participants will be the technical experts of tomorrow," says Elisabeth Loher, Head of Training.
